IT System and Security Engineer
My client is one of the fastest growing European manufacturers of satellite navigation systems. To facilitate their growth they are now seeking to recruit a number of experienced J2EE Software Developers, who will join one of Europe's most experienced and successful PDA/smartphone software development groups.
They require a committed IT Systems Engineer. Working within their IT Strategy & Infra Projects team, you will be engineering secure, stable and scalable production platforms for their customer oriented web services, as well as assisting and consulting team members of the IT Support and [web] development teams. You naturally have an affinity for IT architecture and security and ambition to grow in this field. You will also be supporting software development projects [from feasibility until handover to operations] in delivering secure, maintainable and performing [web-]services to our end-consumers, and supporting development of an information security plan for IT.
Liaison with External and internal IT auditors to execute risk analyses and security reviews and implement follow-up actions will be necessary.
To be eligible for this postion you will need:
- An excellent understanding of IT [web-] infrastructure components, such as: High available load balanced web clusters, Security, Networking, Storage solutions. Linux [Redhat], SQL and JEE Middleware.
- Relevant Security Certifications [i.e. CISM/CISSP]
- Very good language skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken

Idealpeople are proud to be recruiting on behalf of this world leading Digital Content Protection Company, whose software based Digital Rights Management solutions are being deployed amongst Tier 1 Operators across the globe, securing digital content throughout all aspect of the distribution chain.
As a result of increasing customer deployments across EMEA, we are currently looking to recruit a Customer Care Engineer to support the delivery and ongoing maintenance of proprietary, software based DRM systems for IPTV/CableTV networks running on Solaris, Windows and Linux [RHEL4] via onsite and remote support [VPN/MSTC/SSH]. The role will also involve liaising with Pre-Sales Engineers in Europe, and direct contact with partners and customers as a point of escalation.
The Customer Care Engineer will also be responsible for setting up VMWare servers for training and internal customer case reproduction, as well as performing Quality Assurance on new releases prior to deployment into customer configurations.
The core skill set required to undertake this role successfully is a strong Systems Administration background [Solaris, Linux and ideally Windows 2000/2003 Server], solid Database Administration experience with either Oracle &/or SQL Server, the ability to deploy and configure a number of different Web Application Servers such as Apache, Tomcat, IIS, JBoss or Weblogic, and a broad and deep understanding of Networking Technologies and Security [Firewalls, DNS, NFS, IP Filters, Server Clusters, Postfix etc]
Highly desirable experience would include previous exposure to the PayTV market. Ideally with experience of integrating 3rd Party Set Top Boxes, Middleware and of Video on Demand Servers, load balancing and routing.
Fluent written and spoken English is essential for this position, as well as preferably fluency in a second European language [German, Dutch, French, Swedish, Spanish], and demonstrable previous experience in a customer-facing |
